About you Higher Diploma or Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in product / industrial design, product engineering or a similar role. Strong understanding of product design and engineering principles and the ability to take a design from concept through to production. Strong 3D CAD modelling and technical drawing capability. Good sketching, visualisation and idea-generation skills. Good understanding of materials and manufacturing processes, particularly plastics and injection moulding. Experience in beauty, cosmetics or packaging would be highly advantageous. Practical understanding of tooling and manufacturing constraints would be an advantage. Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach to design challenges. Able to balance aesthetics, functionality, manufacturability, quality and cost.
