Electrical Specialist Engineer - Power Plant / Waste to Energy Plant

Essential Experience and Skills:
Electrical engineer with at least 5+ (preferably 10) years of experience in power plant/waste to energy plant with high voltage power generation.
Having completed a relevant apprenticeship and an electrical engineering degree.
Hands-on approach to system monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance planning.
Hands on experience with technical support for power system faults and trips
Demonstrated experience in high voltage system maintenance, equipment operation, including circuit breakers, transformers, generators and switchgear.
Demonstrated experience writing switching programs for high voltage operators, checking and approving isolation plans for maintenance activities.
Hands-on experience performing High Voltage switching, wearing an arc-flash suit and performing switching such as isolation, issuing permits, and re-energisation after maintenance.
Experience with Protection Relays (e.g. Schneider Relays P132, P143) is a plus.
Strong communications skills, both verbal and written. Must be fluent in English to read and understand existing design documentation.
Strong focus on safety
Leadership skills, able lead and coach an existing team of technicians/ engineers
Able to lead calmly while working under pressure i.e. after equipment trips.
Experience providing after-hours technical support for power systems fault investigation and restoration.
