Candidates should have – (a) a medical qualification registrable in Hong Kong under the Medical Registration Ordinance, Cap. 161; (b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 1 or above results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent (See Note (3)); and be able to speak fluent Cantonese and English; and (c) a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test (BLNST) (See Note (4)). (Remarks: 1.For eligible non locally-trained doctors, a new Special Registration pathway under the Medical Council of Hong Kong is available for you to apply full registration after obtaining specialist qualification in Hong Kong. Details of Special Registration can be found at the website of the Medical Council of Hong Kong (https://www.mchk.org.hk/english/registration/special_registration.html). If a non locally-trained doctor is employed as a Medical and Health Officer, Department of Health will offer the same civil service status and benefits as locally trained doctors. 2. Applicants without the requisite CRE results, or equivalent, but have met the other entry requirements may also apply. )
