About You Relevant Honours Degree in Music or a related discipline, with expertise suited to a Junior Conservatoire environment. Experience teaching under-18s of mixed abilities, including students with SEND, with strong skills in inclusive teaching, behaviour management and group learning. Strong musicianship and the ability to teach music theory, practical musicianship, ensemble work and creative music-making. Excellent communication, organisational and digital skills, including the use of music technology to support learning. Understanding of current issues in music education, with a commitment to equality, diversity, safeguarding and student wellbeing. Must be availabile to teach on Saturdays during term time. Desirable: A recognised teaching qualification; relevant professional or continuing professional development; experience in performance, composition or creative music-making; and familiarity with approaches such as Kodály or Dalcroze, and software such as Logic Pro or Sibelius. Any offer of employment will be made subject to an enhanced DBS check, which will be sought by Leeds Junior Conservatoire for the successful applicant.
