What you will need to succeed: A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning in schools (Level 2 or above). Experience working with children with SEND, ideally with ASD or SLCN. Knowledge of sensory integration strategies, early communication support, or social stories. A nurturing, patient, and flexible approach to meeting children’s complex needs. The ability to respond calmly to behaviours that challenge. An understanding of or willingness to train in specialist approaches (e.g. TEACCH, PECS, Zones of Regulation).
