About You Level 2 qualifcation in English and Maths. Level 3 qualifcation in Education or equivalent Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training or willing to undertake. Experience and understanding of children within their family context. Awareness of legislation and guidance relating to Academy attendance and inclusion. Knowledge of the social and emotional factors that affect a child's capacity to learn. Ability to manage difficult situations and challenging conversations calmly, fairly and effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to produce clear and concise reports, correspondence and records relating to attendance and family support. Confidence in using IT systems and software relevant to the role. A commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of pupils.
