Confirm the complete time
State the date, time and time zone, such as Hong Kong time. Avoid an ambiguous morning or afternoon reference. Add the invitation to your calendar and check its displayed time.
Check time-zone changes
The other location may observe daylight saving time, so the difference can vary by date. For example, 4:00 pm Hong Kong time on 4 November 2026 is 8:00 am in London on the same date. Do not reuse the offset for a different date: convert for the interview day and ask the recruiter to confirm.
Prepare a backup
Allow time to test equipment and save the meeting link and contact. If the connection fails, promptly explain and agree whether to reconnect or switch channels.
