Hong Kong graduate interviews: examples when you have no full-time experience
Turn coursework, part-time work and volunteering into specific, truthful answers.
Choose relevant experience
Draw on coursework, internships, part-time work, student societies or volunteering. Compare each example with the role and select real situations that demonstrate collaboration, analysis or communication.
Complete the story
For a group project, explain the goal, your responsibilities, a disagreement or obstacle, your actions and the deliverable. If you have no quantified result, describe a verifiable outcome rather than inventing a number.
Connect it to future learning
Explain what you still need to learn and how you will seek feedback. For example: “I do not yet have full-time experience, but I was responsible for [real contribution] in this project and hope to apply that skill to [role].”
