Applying for customer service jobs in Hong Kong
Prepare examples of communication and problem solving, and check shift terms.
Understand the service channels
Check whether the role handles phone, email, chat or in-person enquiries, and ask about customers, languages and shifts. During an interview, ask about training, escalation and how service quality is measured.
Prepare a problem-solving example
Choose a true example and explain how you listened, established the facts, acted and followed through. If you have not held a customer service role, use experience from retail, events or volunteering and make your own role clear.
Check the working conditions
Confirm location, shifts, holiday arrangements, pay and any bonus conditions. If Cantonese, English or Mandarin is required, describe your actual ability and practise explaining a solution clearly in the relevant language.
