Product manager jobs in Hong Kong: demonstrating product judgement

Use goals, trade-offs and outcomes to show how you solve problems.

Compare the scope of the role

Product management can include research, planning, delivery and operations. Check the product, stage and collaborators in the description; ask about decision authority and success measures to assess fit.

Prepare two product examples

Choose work you actually contributed to. Explain the user problem, evidence, goal and constraints, then the options considered, trade-offs and outcome. Distinguish team results from your own contribution and identify assumptions that remain untested.

Practise explaining trade-offs

Prepare to discuss why you prioritised a need, how you measured success and how you worked through disagreements with design or engineering. Avoid confidential data and use an authorised account of the decision.

Product exercise: improve an application flow

Fictional exercise: candidates say an application is too long, but the team can change only one step. Compare a shorter form with a progress indicator, choose a testable option, and define completion and abandonment rates with denominators. Before launch the outcome is an untested hypothesis, not a claimed conversion improvement.
